Lynn Garcia’s legal experience over the last 32 years has included extensive work in the fields of child abuse, employment litigation and civil rights with a particular emphasis on public school issues in each of these fields. She also provides general employment counseling and training for public and non-profit employers, training in the areas of sexual harassment, complex disciplinary accommodations, as well as initial investigations for school districts into allegations of child sexual abuse.
Lynn has represented various public-school districts, Offices of Education, and counties throughout Northern and Central California in complex cases through all phases of litigation/appeals and is licensed to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States. She has conducted in excess of fifty depositions of abused children and adolescents.
Lynn handles sensitive, complex and potential litigation in an intelligent, organized, thorough and sensitive manner with personal attention to both the critical details of the case and the needs of the client and its employees.

- Multiple adult women sued in Federal court based on sexual abuse by teacher as elementary school students.
- Multiple elementary school girls sued after being abused by school janitor.
- Multiple elementary/middle school girls sued after being molested by Superintendent/Principal who committed suicide during the police investigation.
- Multiple middle school boys sued after being molested by teacher/coach.
- Unconstitutional use of force by Sheriff’s Officers against inmate.
- 15-year-old student committed suicide after allegedly unconstitutional discipline at two separate schools.
- Taxpayer organization filed suit against school district for allegedly conducting improper meetings to detriment of charter school students.

Areas of Practice
- Provides aggressive, sensitive, and thorough client representation through all phases of a complex lawsuit; including pre-litigation consultation and investigation, all phases of litigation, with a view towards successful resolution through settlement, dispositive motion or trial.
- Provides employer advice in the areas of employee discipline, accommodation of employee disabilities, and Human Resources policies.
- Provides training to management employees in the various areas including complex disability accommodation, sexual harassment, employee discipline and appropriate interactions with non-management employees.

Education and Training
- Ms. Garcia has completed both a basic three-day training and an advanced three-day training on conducting multi-disciplinary forensic interviews of reportedly abused children through the American Professionals Society on the Abuse of Children (“APSAC”).
- In 2018, Ms. Garcia has completed the Sacramento County Court Appointed Special Advocate six-week training.
- Ms. Garcia obtained her Juris Doctorate from McGeorge School of Law in 1987.
